Urgent Needs
EAGAS Global Charity Foundation (EGCF) would like to continue assisting our two child-headed households with school fees and out of pockets allowance.
We would like to continue to support our widows with school fees and medical care to ensure that they are not overburdened, and they do not die and increase the child-headed population.
ESTHER NNAEMEKA
Maureen Nnaemeka was one of the early beneficiaries of our programming. She was a widow at the beginning of our initiative, somewhere along the line, she passed living Esther and Elijah. Probably because of stigma, these two were left in the care of a friend of late Maureen. We supported both to acquire both secondary education.
Esther has worked hard to overcome the challenges of losing both parents, She has gained admission into the College of Education. It would be nice to support Esther to achieve her dream of being a teacher.
FAITH ONU
Florence Onu came to our notice about eight years ago. She had been abandoned by her vulcanizer husband. She was distracted at the prospect of looking after her children alone. We encouraged her to be positive about life and assisted her with educational support for her last daughter, who had been born infected.
Florence tried to pick up her life and started petty trading. After a while, it became difficult to move because one leg had swollen disproportionately because of Elephantiasis.
She received some assistance from her church to undergo some therapy, but the ailment persisted. Meanwhile, her vulcanizer husband died and she was forced to continue to eke out a living for her and her children, including the last, Faith. We supported her with educational support until Faith finished the West African School Certificate.
Faith then studied hard and gained admission into Ebonyi School of Nursing in her quest to equip herself to be able to look after her ailing mother. Ebonyi School of Nursing is currently having an accreditation problem.
But this has not deterred Faith, she has sat for the qualifying examination for School of Nursing in Jos. It would be nice to provide some support no matter how little to move Faith towards her dream of being a nurse to enable her to look after her mother.
